Kanpur city Transportation
Kanpur city is always on the move with a wide range of vehicles available for transportation. National Highway-2 or Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) runs through the city facilitating connectivity with nearby cities. The railway line from Kanpur to Mathura runs parallel to the GT road with Kalyanpur and Rawatpur stations as halting points in the city apart from 'Kanpur Central'- the central railway station.
Modes of Transport
Right outside the campus, one can find shared public tempos, autos or rickshaws to travel to any destination. One could also get a full tempo booked in case travelling in a large group. Direct tempos to the central railway station facilitate movement during beginning and end of recess. One can be assured to find a tempo round the clock at major areas including the central station and campus gate.
Regular institute's bus service is available from the campus to the city and back. The exact details with routes and timings are here. Government and private buses can also be found running on the streets during the day.
