ABOUT HUMANOID IITK

What is the first image that hovers your mind, when you hear the word Robot? A mechanical agent or device, having an appearance resembling a human being and which can walk, talk and see. At Humanoid IITK, we are a group of enthusiastic students motivated towards building IIT Kanpur's FIRST INDIGENOUSLY DEVELOPED Humanoid Robot.

HISTORY

The idea had been encircling the Robotics community for many years, but the stepping stone was taken with the completion of a Bipedal robot which could walk, kick, turn and detect obstacles during the Summer Camp 2014. Advancing towards the goal, the team worked on a new and elaborated mechanical design. Presently, the bot can walk, auto-balance, detect human faces, track objects and understand voice commands (connection to internet required).

JOINING THE TEAM

There is a very simple procedure for enrolling into the team. The team conducts an introductory lecture in association with Robotics Club, IITK. Based on that, a test and an interview is conducted to enrol new members. Enthusiastic persons can always contact the Coordinators of the Robotics Club or the Team Members.
