The Card And Board Games Club(often referred to as CBG) is one of the 5 clubs under the Games and Sports Council of the Students Gymkhana. It is one of the most active student groups on campus with more than 3-4 weekly meetings during the semester and everyday meetings during the summer and winter vacations. The games are kept at the Games and Sports Council room, Ground Floor, New SAC. The meetings are open to all students of IITK. It is generally encouraged to come in groups, maybe with wingies or other friends, pick any game and start playing. The announcements for opening times and days for the room are generally posted on the Facebook group Card & Board Games IITK

CBG was started off as a Hobby group by alumnus Shashwat Chandra in 2012. It started off as a small group with very few games and infrequent meetings. As time passed more games were brought into the club by various other students who went for internships to foreign countries, as most of the games are not directly available in India. The Hobby group received approval from the Student's Senate during the 2015-16 even semester and received the Club status.
